From Port Authorities to ship operators and builders, Water & Air has provided services that support public and private entities that develop or maintain waterways or the vessels that operate on them. A myriad of government regulations protect environmentally sensitive areas where land meets the sea (or inland waters) requiring a balance of maintaining accessibility to these important transportation corridors and protecting the natural resources that thrive at this interface. We provide assistance in dredging and predredging projects that maintain inlets and improve access to port facilities by identifying specific protected resources; obtaining permits; identifying appropriate dredge material disposal sites; sampling water, sediments and biological communities that may be affected; and defining geo-physical characteristics of the impact area. In addition we have assisted with decontamination and disposal of hazardous wastes within vessels or petroleum laden bilge water from vessels.
